ST502 Ultrasonic Flowmeter with Clamp-on Transducers and Transit-Time Technology for Accurate Water Treatment Flow Monitoring via RS485
Water Treatment System featuring ST502 Ultrasonic Flowmeter
ST502 Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeter

Ultrasonic flow meters that use transit-time methods to measure flow with high accuracy and reliability for water treatment and flow monitoring applications.

Product Introduction

The ST502 Ultrasonic Flow Meter utilizes advanced digital signal processing technology to deliver precise flow measurement for a wide range of liquids and pipe sizes. Engineered with high-performance transducers and industrial-grade materials, this instrument ensures long-term reliability and maintenance-free operation.

Featuring an intuitive menu display and clamp-on transducers, the ST502 offers exceptional flexibility across diverse applications. Based on Transit-Time technology, this non-invasive flowmeter collects data by clamping onto the exterior of pipes, eliminating contact with fluids and preventing contamination, pressure loss, or leakage.

Key Benefits
  • Measures actual flow and total consumption of various liquids
  • CNC machined construction with magnetic open cover technology (screw-free design)
  • Adaptive signal processing algorithms for accurate measurements in challenging conditions
  • Clear LCD display with alarm functions for easy operation and debugging
  • Transit-time ultrasonic technology enables bidirectional flow measurement
  • Built-in 2G SD card for historical flow data analysis and system optimization
  • Integrated keypad and simple menu system for quick configuration

The ST502 features a premium aluminum alloy construction with CNC processing and industry-leading full-sealed iron-absorbing side-opening technology, eliminating screws and enabling "one-second opening" convenience.

Measurement Principle
TVT (Transit-Time Vortex) Technology

TVT technology represents a cutting-edge approach to ultrasonic flow measurement, combining transit-time ultrasonics with vortex shedding phenomenon detection. This innovative integration enhances accuracy, versatility, and performance, making it ideal for applications requiring precise measurements in varying flow conditions.

The device employs ultrasonic transducers installed on the pipe exterior (clamp-on) or inserted in-line. One transducer sends ultrasonic pulses downstream with the flow, while another sends upstream against the flow. The time difference between signals is directly proportional to flow velocity.

Installation Methods
V Method (Standard)

Considered the standard method, providing accurate readings for pipe diameters from 25mm to 400mm (1"~16"). Requires proper transducer installation at pipe centerline with equal spacing on either side.

V method installation diagram
Z Method

Features less signal attenuation than V method by utilizing directly transmitted signals. Suitable for pipe diameters from 100mm to 3000mm (4"~120").

Z method installation diagram
N Method

Sound waves traverse fluid twice and bounce three times off pipe walls. Improves measurement accuracy by extending transit distance. Suitable for small pipe diameters (uncommonly used).

N method installation diagram
W Method

Sound waves traverse fluid four times and bounce four times off pipe walls. Extends transit distance for improved accuracy. Suitable for very small pipes (diameters less than 50mm, 2").
